7 Steps to Enable the April 2019 Update for Dynamics 365

Along with the rest of you, we have been waiting (im)patiently for the go ahead to test out the April 2019 update. Information has been slow to unfold, but a post on CRMUG prompted me to do a little digging. Here is a quick walk through of how to update Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement using a test environment in 7 steps.

Using PowerShell to Change SharePoint 2010 Workflow AssociationData

Using PowerShell to Change SharePoint 2010 Workflow AssociationData

If you are still using SharePoint on-premises, then you will almost certainly be using workflows based on the 2010 workflow platform.  These would include all of the out-of-the-box workflow reusable templates like Approval and Collect Signatures.

Recently I needed to change the start parameters of a workflow template that was deployed in a site template so there was a copy of the workflow in over 1,000 subsites.  Of course I turned to my trusty friend PowerShell.

Outlook 2013 Only Shows Today Appointments is Fixed!

So the community responded, and someone published an add-in for Outlook 2013 that puts it back.  This worked, but sad it was required.  Many blogs reference this codeplex solution as a workaround to ease their pain and suffering.

The other day I had rebooted after some Microsoft Office updates, and to my surprise I noticed it was there!  I guess Microsoft does listen when enough people complain about it.

Keep Up to Date on Microsoft SharePoint Cumulative Updates

SharePoint 2010 Cumulative UpdatesUpdates are everyone’s favorite topic, and I just wanted to throw out a few good resources on how to keep up to date on the updates that Microsoft released for SharePoint 2010 and WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007.

The Updates RSS Feed

First and foremost, to keep up to date on SharePoint updates, you need to subscribe to the updates RSS feed! These posts provide links to the KB articles and downloads for the various configurations (Microsoft Office, SharePoint Foundation, Server, Server with Project Server, Office Web Apps, FAST Search, etc.). Notice that this feed includes all Office products, not JUST SharePoint. Unfortunately Microsoft doesn’t publish an update feed just for SharePoint that I know of. Also, Stefan Gobner, a Senior Escalation Engineer with Microsoft support, does a bang up job also posting SharePoint CU releases on his blog, as well as when issues come up. Links:

Thanks to UR9 - You can update CRM data using Excel!

When CRM 4.0 was first released you could update CRM data via the Import wizard. But then, for no apparent reason, they took this feature away with UR1.

Well, they've added it back, apparently with Update Rollup 9.  Read full blog for additional information...
